Jenny Cousins

When providing clients with financial advice, it is important that I, as an adviser build a picture of your current lifestyle as well as your financial background, including your plans and dreams for the future. I believe that this should in part be a two way process and that you may like to gain an insight into your prospective Independent Financial Adviser, before meeting or even making contact.

I have over 24 years experience of working within the financial services sector, having worked as an IFA for a total of 12 years. Almost half of my career was spent with Aviva (formerly Norwich Union) in the Gloucestershire area.

I live and have an office base within South Gloucestershire and both locations give me easy access to the City of Bristol and motorway network. Clients usually prefer to have a meeting in their home and I am happy to travel within a reasonable distance. Alternatively, you may prefer to meet at our offices in Bradley Stoke which are a few minutes away from Junction 16 of the M5 motorway.

I provide holistic financial planning which is relative to you as my client, making sure the advice I give is tailored to your particular stage of life. You may be at the start of your career, buying your first or subsequent property, starting a business or family. Alternatively, you may be planning for your retirement, looking to pay for long-term care for you or a loved one or needing investment advice, which could incorporate inheritance tax planning. I am perfectly positioned to offer you and your family advice on any or all of these topics.

My existing clients are of varying age groups with different financial planning needs and often ask me to advise on other areas of their financial planning at a later date, which may be different to their financial planning needs when they first met me. Experience has shown that ladies who deal with their own financial affairs or couples who are of retirement age, in particular, feel very comfortable in receiving advice from a female Independent Financial Adviser.

One last thing to mention is that an annual review is essential for your long term financial well being. If you have not met with a financial adviser for some time, I will be able to conduct a review of your existing arrangements to ensure they fulfill your requirements.

Our initial meeting, whether face to face or over the telephone is free of charge and if you decide to proceed further, you will have the option to either pay a fee or receive advice on a commission basis. For Mortgage and Equity Release advice, where a fee is payable, this will typically be £245 for a Mortgage and for Equity Release £495.
